The IT System Administrator I (Database Administrator) is an entry level position performing Information Technology System Administrator I job duties. The ideal candidate should have some knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of database administration (such as Oracle, SQLServer, MySQL, etc.); data management; operational characteristics of server operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and Unix; and methods and techniques to develop, test, and implement database or web application systems.Positions at this level learn to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity; work on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making.
