Description

Ventamatic, Inc. Is a 70 + year old manufacturing firm with deep roots in mechanical ventilation and indoor air quality. COVID 19 has raised the awareness of the need for improved mechanical fresh air in homes and businesses.

Our team needs software assistance to combine our historical leading-edge products with the advanced science from our research partners, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of Central Florida.  Ventamatic, together with these two leading scientific research organizations are paving the way for a whole new generation of cutting edge but still low-cost healthy indoor air environments.

We are looking for two part time software developers to become integral members of our advanced product development team. Our team has two patents and two pending patents that will combine with advanced building science algorithms and use software and some proprietary sensors to meet the future of advanced building codes. Our final products will improve IAQ, lower the product and operating cost and dramatically advance the state of the art in fresh air products.

One position will focus on the start to finish mobile application that communicates with our on-board controller and a mobile device. We need full product end to end development of a mobile application, including selection of the most appropriate software framework, finalize all the planning to ensue clarity of design and going as far as establishing a final product that can be downloaded from Google AND Apple. This is a smart home product and there will likely be opportunities to integrate the data delivered from our products with the consumer facing applications from companies bundling value propositions for consumer users.

Our other key position is more of a back-end developer.  We will be developing a cloud application that can capture, store information, make IAQ recommendations and decisions based on building science algorithms. The cloud application must speak with the professional users of our mobile application as well as with other smart home Wi-Fi and mobile applications. In the future there are additional advanced applications that can be built using our sophisticated individualized data and cloud to cloud communication. We will need to develop cloud centric databases for professionals to upload design and engineering data, APIs to send and receive data and synthesize data to make recommendations for healthy / clean indoor air.

Test products will use a Raspberry Pi device until a specific control device can be developed and delivered. The ability to translate programs and formulas to and from a Raspberry Pi will be essential in the next 12 months. Crossover skills are going to be useful and allow both software developers to participate in a variety of known and unknown projects over the coming years. The first generation Matter mesh smart home first product has been released. We hope for its success as the mesh network concept helps solve several application problems. We expect you will be able to integrate your developed software into a mesh network product offering you early success in the coming flood of smart home products.

This is a unique opportunity to see and create products from beginning to end. We need some experience to ensure there is sufficient knowledge to make headway. Most particularly we need people who have the desire to participate in an exciting venture while growing their own skill set in the emerging smart home market.

These positions can be on site in Mineral Wells, Texas or can be predominantly work from home. Work from home partners will need to periodically join meetings in person at our Mineral Wells offices. Please write and tell us how your background and history of success will help us advance the state of Indoor air quality.
