Required Skills and Qualifications BS/BA degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of experience as MS SQL Database Administrator Proficiency in installing and configuring complex database management system environments, creating and maintaining databases as well as backup and recovery Demonstrated ability to implement automated process to improve database system reliability Skill at troubleshooting complex problems Background in IT infrastructure, including systems or network administration Proficient knowledge of programing languages, including Python, Javascript, SQL, .NET, PowerShell and TSQL Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile development methodology Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals Hands on Experience on Database High Availability solutions like Log-Shipping, Database Mirroring, Replication, Clustering and AlwaysonAG's Experience in upgrading SQL Server software to new versions and applying service packs and hot fixes. Strong understand of SQL Server database administration, architecture, and database performance tuning in both public and private cloud environments. Proven experience of working with application developers on how to achieve best performance from SQL Server databases Proven experience of moving existing databases to new public and private cloud environments using minimal downtime methodologies. Proven experience of working on mission critical, multi-terabyte, 24x7 uptime SQL Server database Proven ability to collaborate across a wide variety of application and infrastructure teams, from technical workshops to senior leadership briefings Proficient or willing to learn cloud database (e.g. Azure, AWS) Certified in Microsoft SQL certification is a plus
